And so, as their Game 3 starter Clarke Schmidt takes the ball opposite the Dodgers’ Walker Buehler, they’re going to need to feed off the energy of a hungry crowd that hasn’t seen a World Series home game in the Bronx since the Yanks’ 2009 title run.
Can Flaherty keep it going? He has been hot and cold this postseason, and in many ways his whole career. If the Dodgers get Good Flaherty, they could finish this off Wednesday. If they get Bad Flaherty, everyone may be heading back to Los Angeles for Game 6. The Dodgers came into the series just hoping their rotation could hold up. It has turned out to be their strength. They need it to remain so.

The team at Ubisoft’s Massive has repeatedly emphasized that Star Wars Outlaws is all about fulfilling that scoundrel fantasy – and that means everything, including the open world, is built to fulfill that dream. You might overhear a whisper in a cantina that points you toward some lucrative score at a hidden base out in the wilds, giving you an actual, story-driven purpose for your exploration. My hands-on time had me stunned by just how organic the devs have managed to make this all feel.
In practical terms, Outlaws builds an open world that feels less like the collectathon checklist you’ve maybe come to expect from Ubisoft, and instead like an open-ended canvas for more interesting stories and missions to take place on. Like in Rockstar’s old west, there are things to discover out in the distant expanses, but you won’t be climbing towers to uncover map markers with all sorts of boilerplate activities to complete.
It feels pretty forgiving too, if you make a mistake on a mission that says “don’t set off the alarm” it’s not an instant game over if you get spotted, you can use the environment or damage the alarms to buy yourself a few extra chances.
Star Wars Outlaws launched August 30, 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, so any previous generation console players will need to make the upgrade before jumping into this exciting new adventure.
