A&M will turn to lefthander Justin Lamkin, who started both of its wins against Florida in Omaha. He threw eight scoreless innings over the two games, including on Wednesday when he struck out nine batters in five innings.
Buehler, who enjoys pitching in cold weather, is 3-4 with a 3.25 ERA in 17 career postseason starts. He’s allowed just one run and five hits with 17 strikeouts over 13 innings in two previous World Series outings, in 2018 against Boston and 2020 vs. Tampa Bay — both in Game 3.
Star wars open world game
Surprisingly, Outlaws reminds me a lot of Jedi: Fallen Order, a foundation that’s undeniably good and introduces a cast of characters that I already love — but one that could be so much more if it’s given a second chance. I desperately hope Outlaws is given that.
“It’s a dream come true to be able to collaborate with the team at Lucasfilm Games to create Star Wars Outlaws, the first open-world Star Wars game,” Julian Gerighty, creative director at Massive Entertainment, tells StarWars.com. “Our team at Massive Entertainment has a great deal of experience in open-world games backed by strong technology, and it’s the perfect time to tell an original scoundrel story that will resonate with fans. With the Galactic Empire on the heels of the Rebel Alliance, and the criminal underworld thriving, an outlaw like Kay Vess has a whole galaxy of opportunity in front of her.”
Star Wars Outlaws is a momentous occasion – the first true open-world video game the series has ever seen. That fact alone puts a lot of expectations on Outlaws, and the open-world element is by far the most fascinating aspect of the game. Outlaws breaks from the formulaic tradition of most Ubisoft open-world games, instead squarely putting the focus on exploration and immersion. The game is at its best when these elements come together for unforgettable moments like blazing across grassy hills on your speeder as thugs chase you out of their base, making it through a nail-biting shootout after your infiltration into an Imperial base goes wrong, or saving a suave but inept Crimson Dawn agent who locked himself in a room aboard a space station.
One of my favorite quests from the demo involved surprisingly little sneaking or shooting. It was a side job from the Pyke Syndicate, the dominant faction of Toshara’s major city, Mirogana. I was hired to bring in a syndicate member who was caught planning a coup (he’d actually come up in an earlier story mission, a nice, natural-feeling bit of worldbuilding). The first stop was to track a co-conspirator in the city market, but I immediately got distracted by the glow of a Fathier race betting minigame. It briefly occurred to me that this was the same betting operation from that gross casino planet in The Last Jedi, and that maybe it’s messed up to exploit these cute alien horses—I put a stack of credits on “Man From Naboo” and lost it all (instant karma).
Back on track to the market… is what I was for about 10 seconds before I spotted some loot through the window of an abandoned speakeasy. I Deus Ex’ed through a vent to get in, hacked a terminal to shut down an energy barrier, and pocketed a new trophy for Kay’s speeder. Eventually, the quest’s clue (“The agent is making comlink calls”) led me to eavesdropping on a conversation in the busy market, and the development that my man was holed up in a space station in Toshara’s orbit.
World series game
Night games were played in the major leagues beginning with the Cincinnati Reds in 1935, but the World Series remained a strictly daytime event for years thereafter. In the fifth and final game of the 1949 World Series, a Series game was finished under the lights for the first time due to encroaching darkness in the ninth inning. The first scheduled night World Series game was Game 4 of the 1971 World Series at Three Rivers Stadium.
In 1901, the American League was formed as a second major league. No championship series were played in 1901 or 1902 as the National and American Leagues fought each other for business supremacy (in 1902, the top teams instead opted to compete in a football championship).
The Dodgers trailed 5-0 after four innings after the Yankee bats started off hot with back-to-back home runs from Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the first inning. They were the first back-to-back homers for the Bronx Bombers in the World Series since Thurman Munson and Reggie Jackson did it in Game 5 in 1977, also against the Dodgers.
Police noted that there reports of looting at stores in the area and that projectiles were thrown at officers earlier in the evening as well. Mayor Karen Bass had earlier warned residents that “violence will not be tolerated.”
Game 6 of the 1975 World Series is regarded by most as one of the greatest World Series games ever played. It found the Boston Red Sox winning in the 12th inning in Fenway Park, defeating the Cincinnati Reds to force a seventh and deciding game. The game is best remembered for its exciting lead changes, nail-biting turns of events, and a game-winning walk-off home run by Carlton Fisk, resulting in a 7–6 Red Sox victory.
Following the collapse of the American Association after the 1891 season, the National League was again the only major league. The league championship was awarded in 1892 by a playoff between split season champions. This scheme was abandoned after one season. Beginning in 1893—and continuing until divisional play was introduced in 1969—the pennant was awarded to the first-place club in the standings at the end of the season. For four seasons, 1894–1897, the league champions played the runners-up in the postseason championship series called the Temple Cup. A second attempt at this format was the Chronicle-Telegraph Cup series, which was played only once, in 1900.
